If you’re into keyword research, you’re familiar with sites like Google Adwords or keyword planner. Also sites like Ubersuggest by Neil Patel for free keyword research. But if you’re like me you like to get your research done quick and easily. I’ve got something for you, if that’s you!!

Keywords Everywhere Goes Rogue

My favorite tool has been the Keywords Everwhere extension for quite some time now. For many years in fact. It is very quick and straight to the point. It gets the word research done right now. Nice thing about it is it works with 3 sites in telling you all you need to know about the keywords  you’re looking for.

Of all keyword tools it’s the best in my opinion. But hey, you may like to dick around with something more complicated like Google keyword planner. Nothing wrong with that! It just takes longer to get all the words you may need for your project to get it to rank up in the Google search engine.

That’s what separates the extension Keywords Everywhere. Accuracy and speed.

But, here in the last month of the date of this article, the owner of KWE decided because of spam and hackers that he needed to start charging for the extension. It’s a google chrome extension for those that don’t know.

It’s been free for many years. The owner said he just couldn’t justify the tool being free any longer because of spam and hackers taking over. Oh well what can you do?! Well just hang in there with me, I’ll show you.

Keywords Everywhere now costs $10 for 100,000 API calls. Or credits. 1 credit=1 keyword…

• $50 = 500,000 credits

• $100 = 1,000,000 credits

• $200 = 2,000,000 credits

• $500 = 5,000,000 credits

• $1000 = 10,000,000 credits

So there you go. I suppose thats not too bad for $10.00 for 100,000 credits. But hell, if you do a search on lets say google alone it gives you the volume of searches for your keyword you type in, but the problem is it also shows you related words in the right column and that could be many at a time depending on what you’re searching for.

So if you do a lot of research it won’t take you long to wipe that out. And that’s just google alone.

I haven’t mentioned Youtube searches or answerthepublic.com which KWE works on too. You’ll wipe out a bunch of credits easily on answerthepublic.com.  But if you choose to use KWE extension I can tell you a way to keep from losing a load of credits.

When you’re not doing direct keyword research, turn the extension off and if you do a general search on like google it won’t call the API and it won’t deduct from your credits. But it sucks to have to remember to do that. Oh well!!

KWE shows you the volume of search per month for keywords. And it also shows the CPC cost and the global competition for each keyword also. Thats what made using it quick and easy. Without your credits now, it shows the words but no volume for anything.

Enter My Alternative… 

When I found this out a couple weeks ago I thought to myself there has to be another tool that will give me the same results and be free too. So I did some research. And low and behold I found a tool that is comparable to KWE. And it’s a 100% free seo keyword search tool. It’s not quite as good as KWE but it’s good enough.

It will give you the exact same information that KWE gives you. Only thing is it gives you 11 or 12 results at a time. But you can stack them up in its cache to save them for use. But if you regularly clear out your history from your computer you will lose them.

The fellow that created this tool is a software developer. He created the tool because he saw what the Keywords Everywhere owner did by charging for its use now. When you get to the site you will click on “Applications” at the top of the site.

Look down the list of apps till you see Free Keyword Research Tool. Click on that. On the next page there is some information about the tool. But you’ll need to scroll to the bottom of that page and click the download button. You will have to give your name and email address to download it. It is a standalone application. Comes in a Zip File.

Just extract it to a folder and start it up by the executable file. When it loads up you’ll have to put in some more info because its a membership type of app. It’s the way he created it. But you’ll only have to do that once. Everytime you start or load it up after that you won’t have to enter anymore info and the application will just load up.

When you load it up you’ll see four buttons at the top.

• Keyword Research

• Bulk Keywords Check

• Cache

• and More

All you have to do is type in your keyword and it will give you the rest. Including the searches per month, cost per click, and global competition volumes. If you’re doing paid advertising such as with google ads, the cost per click info will be valuable to you as well as the global competition.
