Ok you’re hearing about the new rage these days. Called TikTok. But you want to know how to make money on TikTok. Interested? Click the link…

I’ll be honest with you here. I’m just starting out myself. I haven’t made any money directly off of TikTok, but I’ve driven a lot of traffic from it though to my main business. Resulting in more leads. What I’ve learned so far in my journey.

So read on through this and I’ll be giving you some important things you need to know. Such as guidance on how to set it up. How to create your videos. Choosing the correct hashtags for your content. And so on.

Alright let’s get on with it…

First of all…

What is TikTok?

Briefly, TikTok is a platform much like Instagram. The main difference being it’s not pictures and videos. It’s just videos. For now. Course that’s subject to change. TikTok is a phone app that is compatible with both Android and iPhone. Get it from the appropriate stores. It’s free.

TikTok originally was for teenagers. But it is becoming an increasingly more adopted platform for people of all ages.

Hence people are seeing the viability to use it for marketing too. And its getting to be quite the place to advertise on. In fact to show you the comparison between it and Instagram, it took Instagram almost 10 years to get to where it is today in terms of traffic. TikTok has done great in just 2 years. And it’s increasing by the minute. Right now as of this writing, TikTok is getting 370 million visitors per month.

And it’s climbing quick. I believe TikTok will out do Instagram in the short run. I’ll give it another year, maybe a year and a half. We’ll see.

After Installation

Once you install the app, you’ll need to setup your account. That’s pretty straight forward. Follow the prompts. Make sure to go into “settings ” and make it a business account so you can get the ability to see your traffic and stats analytics.

The way you do that is on your profile page click on the “hamburger symbol”, the 3 dots, at the upper right. In the settings click on “manage my account”. At the bottom of the menu you see where it says “Switch to Business Account”. Tap on that. That’s all there is to it.

At this point you should have the Analytics available to you in the settings.

Creating Your First Video

When creating your videos, it seems that the more action or movement in your videos is what people like to see from what I’ve noticed. There are a lot of video of people dancing on TikTok. And there are a lot of video with minimal movement. Even just as much as finger.

Note: If you’re afraid to get on videos and show your face, then this may not be for you. But if you can remember that people don’t care how you look. They care about entertainment on this platform . Thats all. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t do illustration videos or something like that, if you just can’t get on video yourself.

Ok, so to create your first video, I’ll give you an example of my first experience of creating a video.

Since I’m an affiliate marketer, of course I’m going to do a video that will highlight my business. The goal is to drive traffic to my main offer. This should be your first goal too. This article presumes you do have a business to make money with right?

My main portal, if you will, is my Youtube channel. And my landing page. The first page to my business funnel. You can see it here – mentorwithkev.com. So I made a video talking about my business and directing people to my Youtube channel and Landing page.

Not only did I show my face, but also my Youtube channel and Landing page right from my computer screen, on my phone.

The only drawback to the TiTok videos is, you can only make videos in either 15 second or 60 second increments. so I just choose the 60 second one usually.

To make your first video you need to tap on the “plus” button at the bottom of the screen. That moves over to the video creator. You can either set a timer to start or just hold the red button down with your thumb to do a continuous video.

However using the timer will only allow you a 15 second video. To make a 60 second video, choose the 60 second format at the bottom of the app. Then just hold down the “red” button as you record.

That’s all there is to it. Create whatever you want to get people to see your offers or business. It’s all up to you at this point. Your creativity and imagination are the key ingredients when making it.

After you’ve created your video, there are numerous effects and emoji’s and text fonts, and lot of other things you can do to spruce up your videos with. Again it’s just your creativity and imagination for that.

Then after you’re satisfied with what you created, click on the “next” button. It takes you to the next page where you can type in a description for your video.

Here is where you need to pay attention. This is important if you want your videos to be seen. If you miss this you’ll have what I call a dead video. I know, I already got one.

Anyway, here’s what I learned. It’s about the hashtags you use.

Hashtags are the “keywords” you use, headed by the “#” symbol. Like this example – #kevinlehner.com. Just like in Instagram, they are important to have for people to be able to find your videos.

You can insert them anywhere in the description, but remember there are only so many characters allowed. About 80 characters. So you want to make your description brief and use more hashtags.

But the hashtags you use need to be congruent to your business or offer.

So since your video is about making money online for example, you would use hashtags such as..

• #makemoneyonline

• #makemoneyfromhome

• #howtomakemoneyonline

• #howtomakemoneyonlinefromhome

To name a few. You want to use both long tail and short tail keywords. Short tail keywords are anywhere from 1 – 3 words, and long tail keywords are from 4 words on up from there.

TikTok makes it easy for hashtags. There’s a button labeled “hashtags”. Tap on that. It’ll open up your editor and when you begin to type what hashtag you’re looking for it gives you suggestions. You can choose from those suggestions. But you only get one choice per search or typing.

Just keep typing until you have a good mix of both short and long tail keywords (hashtags). About 4 or 5 should be good enough.

At that point you should be done with your video completely.

Next thing you do is simply hit the “post” button and you’re done. Your video is now live in Tiktok. You did it.

Conclusion 

Now let me point out something else. Your posting frequency should be around 3 or 4 videos a day. You don’t have to, but this is how you can build up your account quickly with followers. That’s what you want. The more followers the more popular your profile. The more you drive traffic to your business or offers. Make sense?

Also to bring more followers don’t forget to like and follow other users in your niche as well. Engage with other users content regularly. That is how you make money on TikTok.
